MONROE WOMAN IS FOUND DEAD
MRS. LUCINDA ELZEY, 80, DIES SUDDENLY OF HEART DISEASE
Mrs. Lucinda Elzey, 80, well-known resident of Monroe, was found dead in bed at 7 0'clock Friday morning. Life had been extinct for approximately ten hours according to the physician who was called to examine the body. Death was said to have been due to a gas crowded heart.
Mrs. Elzey was a daughter of Preston and Aner Pogue and was born in Green county, Ohio Feb. 7, 1847. Her husband preceded her in death. Mrs. Elzey had resided in Monroe since 1911. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley church near Decatur.
Surviving are three sons, Alpha O. Elzey, of Monroe township, Homer M. Elzey, of Monroe and Ira E. M. Elzey of Decatur, two sisters, Mrs. Sariale Reid, Fletcher and Mrs. Martha Duer, Fletcher, both of Ohio, nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. One daughter, Alice Luella Miller, is deceased.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 o'clock and at the Pleasant Valley church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, with Rev. Ira Johnson, of Lynn, assisted by the Rev. Mr. McCarger officiating. Burial will be made in the Spring Hill cemetery.
