NECK BROKEN IN FALL FROM HORSE
Olian J. Ellis, 13 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Ellis, of Grant was instantly killed last Friday morning at 11 0'clock when he was thrown from a horse, breaking his neck.
The lad was riding a horse attached to a cultivator, when the animal became frightened, overturning the cultivator and throwing the lad on the ground.
Funeral services were held at the Grant church Sunday, Bishop John Lee presiding. Interment being made in the Grant cemetery.
Olian was born at Grant on May 3, 1914, and has made his home with his parents there, where he has been an active member of the Grant troop of the Boy Scouts of America.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Ellis, and a brother Glen, and a sister Deloris and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Webster who are residents of Grant.
Olian was the third lad of his age to be killed in the Grant section within the past two years by a fall from a horse, in each instance resulting in a broken neck.
