Margaret Caroline Waldrip was born 18 July 1850 in Alabama, the daughter of John and Elizabeth J. Waldrip. She was married to John C. Abbe about 1867 in Caldwell Parish Louisiana. They had added to their family in Louisiana; John Luther, William E., and James Leonard. They moved to VanZandt County Texas, and here they would add to their family Idonia Doris and Ella. Margaret died 6 July 1892 in Van Zandt, Texas and was buried in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Canton, Van Zandt, Texas.
