George W. Bartholomai, 90, of South Connellsville, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital at Jeannette. He was born Aug. 31, 1918, in Connellsville, a son of the late George R. and Catherine Hartz Bartholomai.

George was employed at Anchor Hocking for 43 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was an avid hunter and he especially loved to hunt deer and coon.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn June Yauger Bartholomai; one daughter, Rose Marie Collins and her husband, William, of Alverton; two granddaughters, Heather and Peggy Collins; and one brother, John Bartholomai, of South Connellsville.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, James, Anthony and Charles Bartholomai; and his sisters, Louise Stuck, Sister Bernice Bartholomai OSB, Mary Agnes Cross and Madelyn Bartholomai.

As per the wishes of the family, there will be no public viewing or services. Private interment will be in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
