Donna A. Flory, 85, Defiance, died at 3:35 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, at CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.
She was born May 19, 1925, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Clara (King) Snider. On October 28, 1949, she married Kenneth L. Flory, who died July 30, 1994. She was a clerk at Murphy's and Charles Company and work for Conomos Confectionery and Snider Market, all in Defiance. She was a member of Defiance Society of Artists and Independence United Methodist Church. She enjoyed golfing with her husband and friends and loved art and painting.
Surviving are two sons, Kenny (Sue) Flory of Defiance and Mark (Elaine) Flory, Defiance; four daughters, Debra (Anthony) Harpstrite of Colorado Springs, Colo., Vicki (Thomas) Shaffner of Grove City, Ohio, Kyle (Dave Bauer) Flory of Bryan, Ohio, and Julie (Dave) Creek, Defiance; and 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, William and Marvin Snider; and two sisters, Lucille Gardner and Luella Moore.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with Rev. Laura Clark officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens, rural Defiance. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
