THIS INFO WAS GATHERED FROM HEADSTONE ON VISIT ON 10/21/2011.ONE OF TWO READABLE MARKERS.STATES "WIFE OF WILLIAM PEAK." Sarah was the daughter of Col. William Tunnell and Elizabeth Worthington, and the grand daughter of Rev. William Tunnell and Mary Maysey.She and William Peak had 11 children. Although he died in north Georgia while delivering supplies in his role as a purchasing agent for the Confederacy in 1864, family tradition says that he was buried here in the family plot. Sarah's brother, Samuel Tunnell, went to Georgia and took a deposition from the woman who cared for William until his death, and could have brought his body back. The deposition is at the Anderson County courthouse in Clinton, TN.
