Otto Barenthin Services Held June 24, Bancroft

Otto G. Barenthin, 82, a resident of Bancroft area since 1931, died at the Estherville hospital Sunday afternoon and funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 P.M. at Immanuel Lutheran church, Bancroft, Rev. Gordon Miller officiating and Garry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Burial was in German Twp. cemetery at Titonka.

On daughter, Mrs. Henry Mayland, Thompson, survives. His wife preceded him in death in 1936, and a son died in infancy.

Mr. Barenthin had been a resident at the Heritage Rest Home in Bancroft, where he carefully tended a garden for the home, and he built a bird bath enjoyed greatly by the birds, to the delight of the Heritage family. Mr. Barenthin was also a member of the Masonic order, Burt chapter, and a Masonic memorial service was held Tuesday evening.

He was born in Germany, and in his active life was a blacksmith and later an implement salesman.
