Linda Axtell

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, at Poole-Larsen Funeral Home in Eugene for Linda Marie Axtell of Eugene, who died June 13 of liver failure. She was 77.

Axtell was born June 9, 1933, in Moorpark, Calif., to Oran and Florence Tilden Brown. She married John “Jack” Axtell on June 10, 1955, in Moorpark. He died previously.

She graduated from Fresno State University and taught art and physical education at Moorpark High School.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph of Kennewick, Wash., and Richard of Eugene; a daughter, Diane Axtell-Buehrig of Albany; two sisters, Myrna Sullivan of Florence and Joyce Corder of Albany; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Arrangements by Poole-Larsen Funeral Home in Eugene. Remembrances to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or a local no-kill animal shelter.
