Hazel was born in Henderson County, N.C., November 1, 1928 daughter of the late W. Albert and Geneva Williams Hill.
She graduated from Unionville High School and attended Meredith College.
Hazel owned and operated her own dairy farm. She was also a very active and longtime member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, having served in the Women's Missionary Union, Girls Auxiliary and the North Carolina Baptist Men's Disaster Relief Ministry.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Horace Dean Austin, William Schildt and Craven Baucom.
