The family burial plot in Oswego Cemetery of John David Neil has a large monument for him along with a smaller head stone inscribed "John D. Neil, July 23 1836, Oct. 25 1904." Buried next to him is his wife Sarah Nash Neil, and her head stone is inscribed "Sarah A. Neil, Apr. 6 1844, Feb 14 1880." Also buried in the family plot is Sarah's father Avery Nash. His head stone is inscribed "Avery Nash, Apr. 21 1812, Oct. 27 1894." These are the only stones in the family plot. John D. Neil Married second to Belle LeSoeul and they had two children, Earle Neil Neil and John David Neil, Jr. but they are buried elsewhere.
