Born in Clearfield Jan. 25, 1908, he was the son of Leslie and Minnie (Drugg) Antes.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and was retired from Harbison-Walker Refractories. He was affiliated with the United Methodist faith and was a member of the John Lewis Shade Post 6 of the American Legion and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 812.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Taylor) Antes, five children, Alfred Jr. of Bradford; Mrs. David (Helen) Nicholson, Mrs William (Barbara) Ogden and Janet Antes, all of Clearfield; and Mrs. Larry (Lillian) Kephart of Osceola Mills; a step-son, Donald Studor of Smethport, 19 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Mrs. Clarence (Grace) Greene of Clearfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Wava L. (Graham) Antes, five brothers and two sisters.
The funeral will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Kenneth Shirey officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until the hour of the Service on Monday. A military service will be conducted at the graveside
