Mrs. Ellar Caston Leggett, 83, died at her home on the Homestead Plantation road, north of Transylvania road, Saturday, Dec. 30. The remains are being held at the Walters Funeral Home, awaiting the arrival of a daughter, Mrs. Clara Anderson, from California.
Born in Mississippi, Nov. 29, 1861, Mrs. Leggett had lived in Louisiana for 51 years.
The mother of nine children, only three survive. A son, Will Leggett, Transylvania, and two daughters, Mrs. Florence Purvis, Kilbourne and Mrs. Clara Anderson of California.
