Mrs. Stokes was born September 29, 1917, in Alabama and passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011, in Jacksonville, TX. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe before moving to Texas in 2001, where she transferred her church membership to Central Baptist Church of Jacksonville.
She is preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Stokes; parents Henry and Cora Wiggins
grandson Todd Menefee; her two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Ron & Cheryl Stokes of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters and sons-in-law Sandra & Wayne Farrar of Grapeland, TX. and Jan & Pete Menefee of Jacksonville, TX; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law Martiel Kizer of Monroe and Dot Stokes of Houston; and several devoted nieces and nephews
