Mr. Joseph Bootsie Davidson

Mr. Joseph Bootsie Davidson, 80, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in a local hospital surrounded by his family.


Joe was born in Teague, TX and was a resident of Lake Charles for the past 16 years. He lived most of his life in Pearl River. Mr. Davidson was a 1951 graduate of Ruston High School and attended Louisiana Technical College. He was a believer in Jesus Christ and worked as a truck driver most of his life. Joe enjoyed fishing, gardening, farming and he played the saxophone in his younger years.


He is survived by his wife Carolyn Davidson of LaPlace, LA; son, Brian Joseph Davidson (Marti) of Prairieville, LA; two daughters, Roxanne Michelle Baggett (Richard) of Westlake, LA and Jodi Davidson of Laplace, LA; brother, Billy Davidson of Choudrant; six grandchildren, Amber Mabile, B.J. Davidson, Michaela Diez, Zak Davidson, Jillyan Baggett, and Rylee Johnson; three great grandchildren, Seth and Cooper Mabile, Avery Bruce; special friend Dorothy Reeves "Dot" of Lake Charles.


Preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Terrel; brother, Fred Davidson; parents, William and Gertrude Davidson.


A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeffery Ralston will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until time of service. Cremation is entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
