Eva M. Arnold was born 3 April 1900 to Thomas and Dicie Jane (Teague) Arnold in Crawford County, Arkansas. She married Duell "D.A." Robins on 25 August 1918. They settled in Sans Bois, Haskell County, Oklahoma and moved in next to her in-laws. In 1920 their first child was born, Lester Ray Robins. To this union was born one more child, Ruby Robins, who was born two years later.

Duell died unexpectedly in 1935, leaving Eva and the two children in Oklahoma. In the 1940 census, Eva is living with her son, Lester and his bride, Laura Virginia Harmon.
