Henry H. Hoblitzel, Jr. joined Company C, 77th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on October 5, 1861, for a 3-year service when he was 30 years old. He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant and transferred to Company I. on December 31, 1861. During July 1862, he resigned his commission to join a battery of West Virginia Artillery.

Gravesite Details

Henry was originally buried in IOOF cemetery, now known as Parkersburg Memorial Cemetery in West Virginia in Feb 1873 and removed to Spring Grove Cemetery in Dec 1873 for re-interment in the family plot. No marker found.
