"Wilson, James Surgeon's Mate, enlisted 24 Apr 1814 and was discharged on 3 Aug 1814. During the War of 1812, he served in the 6th Regiment, Virginia Militia as a 1st Surgeon's Mate. In about 1952, Mrs. C. F. Rudolph made an application for his headstone at Ft. Defiance old cemetery with a christian latin cross and an upright marble headstone. It lists his dates as 1788-1830.
