JO LAURA HAMMER
Mrs. Jo Laura Vardeman Hammer, 88, of Hubbard died Friday, July 11, at a Hubbard nursing center. She was born August 15, 1914 in Hubbard. She was a housewife and had lived in the Hubbard area all her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hubbard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Hammer in 1995; two brothers, Charles Vardeman and Ford Vardeman; and one sister, Lola Bell Walker. Survivors include: two sisters-in-law, LaVona Vardeman of Hubbard and Ruth Vardeman of Mexia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Wade Funeral Home Chapel in Hubbard with Rev. Jerry Irvin officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard.
