Clara A. Badding, 89, a longtime resident of Cedar Rapids, died Monday at the Winslow Health Care Center in Marion, where she had resided since May 1975.

She was born June 4, 1893, near Urbana. She was a baker at the S.S. Kresge Co. in Cedar Rapids before retiring. She was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Laurine Taylor of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons; and three sisters, Lucille Beshaw of Scottsdale, Ariz., Margaret Burrell of Center Point, and Gertrude Nichols of Cedar Rapids.

Services: Wednesday at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, Urbana. Friends may call at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion today where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established.
