Carleton 72, Dies at Home Thursday Morning
W. L. Carleton, Sr., 72, died at his residence five miles out on the Luling Road at 6:45 a.m. today.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Robertson and Seydler Chapel Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Reverend Kenneth C. Minter, Pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the WOW Cemetery.
Carleton was born March 20, 1866, in Van Zanda County. He had lived near Gonzales for thirty years and was a member of the Gonzales Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Carleton; one brother, Lee Carleton of Leesville; two sisters, Mrs. Coleb Denis of Pearl and Mrs. Edward Courverse of San Antonio; sons, W.H. Carleton of Randolph Field, H.V. Carleton of Harwood, and W. L. Carleton of Gonzales; and daughters, Mrs. A.G. Blackwelder of North Carolina, Mrs. J.W. Keck of Wrightsboro, and Mrs. R.M. Miller of Houston.
