Helen Caroline White, 85, of Moore OK, who taught in three different school systems during a 30-year career and was an active volunteer, died Oct. 9, 2011, after several months of declining health. Born Oct. 25, 1925, in Edna OK to William August and Helena Kathrina (Reinhardt) Juedeman, she graduated from Bristow High School and then from the University of Oklahoma with an education degree. She began her teaching career in Oklahoma City before taking a break to raise her two children. She returned to teaching in the Grandfield OK school system in 1966 and finished her career in the Moore (OK) School System at Apple Creek Elementary.

She was married June 27, 1948, to Perry E. White, who preceded her in death in 1989. They owned and operated The Big Pasture News in Grandfield from 1954-1976. She was an active member of PEO, serving the organization in several different roles, and served as president of the Friends of the Moore Public Library for more than a decade. She was a longtime active member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, particularly the Clyde Harrison Sunday School class.

She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Brooks, son-in-law Eugene Brooks, and grandson Virgil Brooks, all of Huntsville AL; and her son Keith White of Alexandria VA. One of her four sisters, Ruth Steele of Tulsa, survives, as do a brother-in-law Allen Gelwick of Tulsa, and sister-in-law Inez Juedeman of Arizona.
