Susan Frances Summers Prock was the daughter of William (1818-1891) and Emily Rose Huffines Summers (1818-1873). She was born on May 2, 1860 in Gibsonville, Guilford County, North Carolina.

As a child, Susan's family moved to Webster County, Missouri to farm in the Ozarks. In 1879, she married James Green Prock (1851-1938). They established their family farm in the Grovespring area of Wright County.

James and Susan were the parents of nine children:

Cora Prock Bledsoe (1883-1967)
Ora Ester Prock Williams (1884-1963)
John Melton Prock (1887-1923)
Olive "Ella" Prock Bemis Puckett (1889-1963)

Susan "Alma" Prock (1895-1963)
James Roy Prock (1900-1902)

On February 21, 1942, Susan passed away in Wright County.
