Donald T. Brissett was born on May 16, 1929 in St. Helens, Oregon to Ben & Verla (Brundage) Brissett. He died at a Portland hospital on May 12, 2011 at the age of 81.
Don attended and graduated from Scappoose High School in 1947. He married Marilyn Dimond on July 17, 1951 in Bloomington, Illinois. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2005. He was a Meteorologist for the US Air Force for 28 years, from 1947 until retirement in August of 1974. He traveled all over the world in the Air Force and came back to Scappoose after retirement until present.
Donald had a Christian faith and his enjoyments included carpentry.
He is survived by his children, Bob Brissett, and Lynn Osen, both of St. Helens, Joni Farenwald of Scappoose, Ben Brissett of Clatskanie, and Dawn Brissett of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Sandra Stepp of Scappoose, and Jack Brissett of St. Helens. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn on Oct. 17, 2005.
Nicheside service and inurnment will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at Columbia Memorial Gardens in Scappoose.
