Verna Conner, 94, of Bellmead, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, in a Mexia nursing home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Gholson Cemetery with the Rev. Troy Cobb officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Bellmead Funeral Home.

Verna was born in Lampasas County, to the late John Anderson and Mary Celina (Ripple) Harris. She was a homemaker.

Preceding in death was her husband, D.L. Conner; son, Billy Carrell Conner; grandson, Troy Poe; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her children, Melkin Dee Conner and wife, Norma, of Oglesby, Margaret Jo Moss, of Valley Mills, and Jane Stanfield and husband, John Mark, of Mexia; grandchildren, Robert Joe Moss and Mary, Sarah Bobo and David, Patricia LaMont and Earl, Linda Kay Neal and Johnny, Wesley Moss and Sondhya Gibbs, Jamie D. Ford and Dale, Shane Conner and Bobby Charles Parsons; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and extended family, Betty York, of Gholson, and Sue Ayers, of Georgetown.
