He was born on July 14, 1929 in Tullahoma, TN, the son of Pinkney A. and Effie Mae (Hix) Adams. On March 11, 1948, he married Eva Adams in Muncie, IN.
He worked for Ball Brothers for 22 years and 27 years at Ball State University. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Dunkirk in Dunkirk, IN. He enjoyed farmin, gardening, and spending time with his family.
Surviving relatives include two brothers, Marvin (Joyce) Adams of Muncie, IN; three grandchildren, Jeff Williams (Jessica) of Chicago, IL, Jon Williams (Mellissa) of Washington, IN, and Alexis Scott (Kyle) of San Antonio, TX; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Pearl Adams; one son, Roger Adams; two brothers, Earl and Larry Adams; and two sisters, Margie Sciscoe and Jean Rucker.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie, IN. Pastor Delmer McCowan will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral hom.
