Mrs. Moore
Mrs. Merle Moore, a resident of Taos the past 13 years, died suddenly Tuesday. The wife of P. A. Moore, who died in January, Mrs. Moore was discovered by friends at her home after suffering a sudden illness. She was rushed to Holy Cross Hospital where she died. Mrs. Moore taught in the Waco and Houston, TX., schools many years before she and Mr. Moore moved here 13 years ago. In Taos she was active in the Taos Garden Club, the Taos Artist Assn. and the Christian Science Group.
Among the out-of-town relatives coming here for the funeral are three sisters, Mrs. G.M. Knebel of Scarsdale, NY, Mrs. Allan Mae Tonahill of Mart, TX, Mrs J.L. Baird of Markedtree AR; Two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lotus Cone of Austin, TX, Mrs. David Bartran of Houston, TX, and a long time friend Jack Pagan of Little Rock, AR.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday in the chapel at Hanlon Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sierra Vista Cemetery.
Friends are asked to make contributions to the Harwood Foundation or any institution or organization in her name in place of sending flowers.
