CARTHAGE, Mo. — Michael (Mike) Eugene Fansler, age 59, formerly of Carthage, passed away on October 8, 2011 at his home in McKinney, Texas.

He was born on January 24, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas. Mike was the son of Albert (Ab) Newton Fansler and Artist (Artie) Delane (Ward) Fansler of Carthage, Missouri.

Mike was a lifelong Carthage resident, moving to McKinney, Texas in 1991. He worked at many occupations in his life but enjoyed truck driving and construction the most. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved to fish, hunt and race cows.

Mike's biggest passion in life was his family, especially his children.

He was a loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and grandson.

Like Will Rogers, he had a gregarious personality and he never met anyone who didn't become his friend, most sooner than later. His compassion for his fellow man and willingness to help anyone who needed it was an endearing trait that most will remember him for.

He married Patsy J. Ayers on November 22, 1969 in McKinney, Texas. She survives.
