Services held for Art Vanderlyn, manager of Hartford grocery store
HARTFORD-Arthur Alan Vanderlyn, 40, died September 15 at University hospital, Ann Arbor, following a long illness.
Funeral services were held Friday at the Methodist church, followed by burial in Maple Hill cemetery.
Vanderlyn, who owned Harding's Market here and was interested in the same chain in Watervliet and Coloma, was born in Hartford.
He is survived by his wife, the former Bonna Modro; his mother, Mrs. Nilmah Vanderlyn, and a sister, Mrs. Donna Smith, all of Hartford.
He was a member of the Benton Harbor Elks lodge, the Van Buren Sportsmen's club, and the Masonic lodge, who conducted funeral rites.
