Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Evelyn, daughter, Susan Carden and her husband, Bill of Austin, TX, son, Douglas Egli, MD and his wife, Regina Valencia, MD of Albuquerque, grandchildren, Brian Carden, Jason Carden, Katharine Egli and Michael Egli, sisters, Elsie Litwill of Washington, Iowa and Ida Egli of Kalona, Iowa and many other family and friends.
Stanley was preceded in death by daughter, Marlene in 1955.
Stan was born on June 27, 1918 in Mason, Iowa, the last of thirteen children. Stan was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. After obtaining a degree in Business Administration from Denver University, he began a career in hospital administration. Stan served as Administrator of the Española Hospital from 1965 until 1978 and Assistant Regional Administrator for Presbyterian Hospital Center from 1978 to 1980. Stan served as President of the New Mexico Hospital Association in 1971.
A Memorial service is planned for October 10, 1998 at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church. Private burial will take place at Sandia Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Presbyterian Hospice of St. Stephen's United Methoidst Church, Kids Under Construction Program Preschool and Daycare.
