Myrtle F. Harvey, 94, of 771 E. Suber Road, died December 10, 2006, at Allen Bennett Hospital after years of declining health. She was the widow of James Wilbur Harvey.

A native of Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late James M. and Hattie Neely Flynn. Mrs. Harvey was a retired employee of J.P. Stevens Greer Plant. After retirement, she and Wilbur traveled extensively. She was also widely known for her iris gardens and the hundreds of cakes she baked each December. She was a lifelong member of El Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She loved her Lord and her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. For several years she was cared for in her home by Steve and Sabrina McAbee.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Marshall (Bud) McAbee; a son-in-law, James William McAbee Jr.; three grandchildren, Steve, Marshall, and Sabrina McAbee, and two great-granddaughters; and a sister, Ethel F. Taylor.

Mrs. Harvey was predeceased by a daughter, Cary McAbee, and three sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Joe Seay and Rev. Paul White. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Bud McAbee, 1411 Lake Cunningham Road, Greer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be made to El Bethel Baptist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 2809, Greer, SC 29652.
