Carl Whitaker
Services for Carl Whitaker, 82, of Kingsland will be held at Geo. J. Carrol & Son Funeral Home, with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. Service time is pending.
Mr. Whitaker died Wednesday in Kingsland Nursing Center.
He was born July 8, 1909, in Cooke County to the late Clyde and Emma Cotten Whitaker. A graduate of Gainesville High School, he was a long-time employee of Lone Star Gas Co. He retired in 1976 as vice president of Trans-Canada Ltd., and returned to Texas to reside in Garland. Following the death of his wife, Eula Lee Whitaker, on Jan. 22, 1977, Mr. Whiter moved to Gainesville. He relocated to Kingsland about 1980. He was a former member of Whaley United Methodist Church.
Surviving are daughter Sue Foster of Casper, Wyo.; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; step-daughter, Susan Rogers of La Marque; sister Byrda Perry of Gainesville, and brother J.B. Whitaker of Gainesville; and brother J.B. Whitaker of Fort Worth.
