Jefferson City Post Tribune (MO) - Page 1 - April 15, 1935:

Conrad A. Beck, one of the county's oldest and best known farmers, died unexpectedly at 7 o'clock last night at his home on St. Mary's boulevard. He was 85 years old. Mr. Beck had not complained and apparently was in the best of health during the day. He was stricken suddenly and died within a few minutes.

Mr. Beck conducted a farm near Jefferson City nearly all his life. Born in Bavaria, Germany, December 1, 1849 he came to the United States with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beck
when a child 18 months old. The family settled on a farm in Cole county and he had been here since. After conducting a farm near Brazito until 1893 he purchased land nearer Jefferson City. The farm is in the Washington park.

Mr. Beck married Miss Augusta J. Erhardt January 14, 1875, and she with seven children, 38 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren survive. The children are Henry S., William A., Louis M. and Otto J. Beck of Jefferson City, Mrs. Peter C. Maynes, Mrs. Nannie Loesch of Jefferson City and Mrs. Agnes Proff of Mena, Ark. One brother, Martin Beck of St. Louis, also survives.

He was a life long member of the Lutheran Trinity Church and was prominent in parish affairs.
