MINNEAPOLIS -- Harold Marvin Bailey, 85, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011. He was born Aug. 15, 1926, in Earlton, Kan., to Curtis A. and Edith (Klauman) Bailey.
Harold served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He worked as a yard foreman for the Santa Fe Railroad in Chanute and Tulsa. He was also a jack-of-all-trades, working for Manley Transfer and Torrence Jewelry, Chanute, as well as a watch repairman from home.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. (Beck) Bailey.

He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge Scottish Rite, of Chanute and Fort Scott, Shrine Temple AKDAR, of Tulsa and Fort Scott, the VFW and American Legion.

He is survived by one son and four daughters, a brother, Dale Bailey, and a sister, Lucille Mitchell, both of Chanute; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Thayer Cemetery, Thayer, Kan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner's International and may be left at or sent in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina.
