The earlier 3 census records all clearly give her birth year as 1850, the older records start to get fuzzy and some give 1855 or 1852 or 1854. I would imagine the earlier ones are correct but without a birth certificate, no proof. (Her parents, Robert Carter and Annie Cole - spelled Coal on their marriage record in Mississippi) are not to be confuses with her brother Robert Carter who married Neadie Adeline Tice. (She is called Annie Cole Tice on many on-line trees so far I cannot find proof of the Tice part). I have not been able to find her parents graves yet either.
