Abram Nesbitt was the son of James Nesbitt and Phebe Harrison. James Nesbitt was an early settler of the Wyoming Valley,Pennsylvania arriving from Conn.in 1769. James Nesbitt was a soldier in the 24th Regiment Connecticut Militia and was a survivor of the Battle of Wyoming, July 3, 1778. Abram Nesbitt married Bethia Wheeler. Abram and Bethia had a son James 1790-1840. Abram was also a Revolutionary War Veteran, having served in Captain John Franklin's Company of the Wyoming Militia. Both Abram and his wife Bethia are buried at the Shawnee Cemetery, Plymouth, Pa which was established in 1873. Their remains were moved to the Shawnee Cemetery from another local cemetery, most likely Shupp's Cemetery, Larksville, Pa.
