Throughout World War II, Mrs. Dean kept up an active correspondence with many men overseas who stayed in the Dean home when they came to the Breckenridge USO. She was active in the state level in the early years of the American Legion Auxiliary and the U.S.O. during World War II.
Mrs. Dean was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Wednesday Study Club and founding member of the Breckenridge Woman's Forum.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Ben J. Dean, Jr.
Survivors; three sons - Beale of Fort Worth, Joe Arthur of Farmington, NM, Harry of Houston; three brothers - R.L. Beale of Port Mansfield; M.S. Beale of Pueblo, CO and A.C. Beale of Houston; one sister - Dorothy Beale of Dallas; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
