Robert Winebrener, 82, of Sycamore and DeKalb, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 1991, at the Oak Crest Retirement Center in DeKalb.

He was born April 24, 1909, in Letart, W. Va., the son of John Wesley and Mary Jane (Grimm) Winebrener. He married Guyla M. Jones on Dec. 12, 1936, in Mayfield.

He was employed as a supervisor for Anaconda Wire and Cable Co. for 30 years. He was a 50-year member of the Sycamore Elks Club, Lodge #1392, a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, and a member of the DeKalb Co. Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife; a brother, Ross (Irene) Winebrener of Letart, W. Va.; two sisters, Mildred (Ernest) Howerton of Huntington, W. Va., and Mabel Wears of Point Pleasant, W. Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Butala-Van Natta Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary B. Ryden officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home where there will be an Elks memorial service recited at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
