Born in Colleton County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late C.J.D. and Nan Breland Caldwell.
She was a member of Hermitage Baptist Church. She was a dedicated preacher's wife, helping in all aspects of the ministry where they served.
Surviving are her children, Nancy O. Steele of Camden, and Joy Steele Collins (Ronnie) of Camden; brother, Edwin 'Buddy' Caldwell (Grace) of Aiken; sisters, May Reid of Darlington and Susan Higgins of Charlotte; 3 grandchildren, T.J. Cooper, Colton Autry, and Leah Cooper; and 2 great-grandchildren, Jayden Gage and Kolby Mason.
She was predeceased by brothers, John Caldwell, Mendell Caldwell and Alvin Caldwell; and sisters, Edith Caldwell, and Rose Bozard.
