Clara Lindley Reed Buford White was the daughter of Rev. Carson Pate Reed and his wife Tranquilla Tyrold Jenkins Reed of Giles County TN. Clara married first Albert Buford on 27 NOV 1854, in Giles County TN. She was his second wife, and they had seven children together. Clara married second S. P. White, on 14 JUN 1886, in Giles County TN.

Clara and Albert Buford's children were Albert Buford, William Hastings Buford, Anne Douglas Buford who married Calvin Charles Brown, May Buford who married Dr. William Andrew Paschall (#124917814), Wyly Reed Buford, Thomas Buford, and Clara Buford who married Edwin Owen Tate.
