GREAT BEND — A.D. Belt, 81, of Great Bend, formerly of El Dorado, passed away on Oct. 13, 2011 in Great Bend.
A.D. was born April 7, 1930 in Haverhill, the son of Atlas Delno and Vietta Elizabeth (Ruckle) Belt. He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1948 and served in the U.S. Army. He spent his career in the oil industry with Haliburton, Dowell, Rains and Williamson and finished with his own oil investment company. On May 28, 1949, he was united in marriage to Fayrene Usrey in El Dorado. She preceded him in death July 4, 1999 after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in May.
A.D. enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards and was an avid bowler.
He leaves his two sons, Don (Connie) Belt, Great Bend, and Ron (Debbie) Belt, Olathe; a daughter, Connie (George) Dickinson, Marquette; sister-in-law, Virginia Belt, Augusta; four grandchildren, Justin, Jason, Caitlin and Alex; and two great-granddaughters, Autumn, Rei Ann and Jain. His parents; infant son, Bobby; and 8 brothers preceded A.D. in death.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers a memorial in his memory is for the Alzheimer's Association which can be sent to Carlson Funeral Home. Leave a condolence or memory for the family at www.carlsoncolonial.com.
