DEATH OF MRS. FANNIE YOUNG AT AGE OF 83

After an illness of several months, Mrs. Fannie Young, age 83, one of the pioneer residents of this city, died this morning at the home of the brother, James W. Alexander in Unionville, with whom she had lived for the past year. Born and reared in this city in the old Alexander homestead, which still stands on West 8th Street, Mrs. Young was of the oldest families in the county. At the age of 16 she was united in marriage to William Young and there were seven children, all but one of whom are dead. The husband has been deceased for many years, and Mrs. Young had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Eckles on East 7th Street until the past year. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church and a most loveable, dutiful Christian woman.

Those left to mourn are the brothers, J. W. Alexander, with whom she made her home, and Capt. W. M. Alexander, east of the city, one son, Martin Alexander (sic) of Cleveland, also four grandchildren and a daughter-in-law of Old Mexico.

Funeral Thursday at 1:30 from the W. C. Palmer residence on North College Avenue in charge of Rev. Plymate and interment in the family lot in Rose Hill. Pallbearers: Ralph Pauley, Charles Small, Frank Eckles, John (illegible), A. H. Beldon, W. I. Fee.

[Note: d/o daughter of John Henry and Margaret Jane (Clark) Alexander; w/o John William Young (m. November 18, 1852 in Monroe County, Indiana]
