Death of Mrs. Mary Bliss
Had Been a Resident of Kansas Since 1854
Mrs. Mary L. Bliss, 73, a resident of Kansas since 1854, died Wednesday at her home, 1003 Topeka boulevard.
Born in Boston, Mass., she moved to Kansas when she was only 4 years old. The late Jesse Stone, her father, founded the First Baptist church here and her husband, the late Charles A. Bliss, was a charter member. Mrs. Bliss was also an early member of the house of worship.
She was a member of the Woman's club, the Toltec Rite, the Social Order of the Beauceant, and the W.T.K. club.
She is survived by two brothers, George M. Stone and Robert Stone of Topeka; one daughter, Mrs. Lela M. Cook of Topeka; one son, George S. Jewell of San Bernardino, Cal., and three grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
