Lurico is the son of Lilburne H. Davenport and Emma Cochran. The family moved from Alabama to Arkansas in the late 1800's.
Lurico worked as a telegraph operator for several railroad companies in Arkansas, the Iron Mountain and later after a merger, the Missouri Pacific.
He married Mary Elizabeth Porter, daughter of James Jesse Porter and Anna L Veerkamp, on 30 Jun 1921 in Lonoke County, Arkansas and had one daughter Flora Katherine Davenport born 31 Aug 1923 in Arkansas. Flora "Kathy" was a Navy Wave in WWII and is buried in Fort Logan cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
