Born in Barnwell County, he was a son of the late E. Franklin "Boy" Dyches and Annie Lou Black Dyches. He was a retired farmer and security guard and was a member of Ashleigh Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Lee Clark Chavis Dyches; sons, Franklin Johnson (Pearl) Dyches, Calvin Marcus (Cindy) Dyches; sisters, Louise Still, Frances Redmond, Bonnie Laird; brother, Henry Dyches; grandchildren, Brittany Katherine, Johnathan Edwards, Steven Marcus and Christel Elizabeth Dyches; great grandchildren, Hope Nicole Dyches, Ashton Ridge Love and Trevor Dyches. He was preceded in death by brothers Wilbur, Ralph and Johnnie Dyches.
