FORT WORTH - James H. Baxter, 70, owner and operator of Baxter Grocery, died Sunday in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park.

James H. Baxter was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Mansfield, Ark. He owned and operated Baxter's Grocery on Hemphill for 16 years.

Survivors: Sons, Avery A. Baxter of Fort Smith, Ark., and Randy Baxter and Cotton Baxter, both of Fort Worth; daughter, Debbie Durham of Burleson; mother, Lois Baxter of Fort Worth; brother, Raymond E. Baxter of Crowley; seven grandchildren; and special family, Bandidos Motorcycle Club.
