Daniel Roddick Byrnes
January 11, 1954 ~ March 13, 2011

We have lost a treasure. Dan Byrnes passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2011 at his home in Creston, BC. He was 57.
His beloved mother Jean predeceased him in 2008.
He is mourned by father Hugh, sister and brother-in-law Jary and Bob Bingham, niece Amy Pryadko, nephews Andrew and Tomas Bingham, his cousins -- who enjoyed doting on their freckle-faced, red haired little cousin in his early years-- and his many friends.
We remember Dan's quirky sense of humour, his quick mind and athletic abilities. He was an avid lover of nature and of learning, and spent his time and energy hiking, writing, photographing, and coddling his cat. He loved the Creston Valley, and his 25 years of employment with Canada Post gave him opportunities to see it in all its year-round splendor. In spite of daunting health issues which left him jobless, he continued to work on his poetry and photographs, editing them with great care. They are his legacy, his gift to us. To all of us who loved him, his memory will be eternal.
