Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - May 20, 2007. Obituary: Ione Jones Corbridge, 1918 ~ 2007, Our cherished mother and grandmother, Ione Jones Corbridge, 88, returned to her Father in Heaven peacefully on Thurs., May 17, 2007. She was born December 6, 1918, in Brigham City, Utah to Lorraine Steed and Evan Jones. She was raised by her beloved grandmother, Margret Ann Jones, until she was 10 years old. Later sealed to her father and step-mother Laverna Jeppson Jones, creating a combined celestial family. Married Hyle (Red) Corbridge on March 13, 1937, in Logan, Utah. Later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on July 30, 1985. Ione lived a life full of love and devoted service to her family, neighbors, and church. She always saw the good in others and knew just how to love them. Ione was known for sharing her freshly baked bread and desserts, volunteering with the PTA, and babysitting her beloved grandchildren. Her garden, handwork, and home radiated her beauty. She treasured her pioneer heritage and was active in the DUP. Ione loved to celebrate holidays and was always ready for a party, no matter the reason. We all counted on her for great advice; she had a kind word and warm hug for everyone around her. Ione was a model of patience and generosity. Ione and Red spent 48 years together raising four children. She sang her way through life, and we often caught her dancing in the kitchen. She adored puzzles, road trips, and dinner parties. Her life's work was making sure her family felt loved, safe, and self-sufficient. She served in every organization of the LDS church, and her priorities centered on her testimony. She loved serving in the temple and attended as frequently as she could.

Ione is survived by her children, Deone (Richard Vreeken), Carol (Barry Ellis), Jack (Coleen), and Bonnie (David Lofgren); 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Brown and Robert Jones. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctor and nursing staff of the Residence CareSource for their compassionate care of our mother during her last days. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the Woods Cross 2nd Ward Chapel at 1500 S. 790 W. in Woods Cross.
