Mary Eileen Galle of The Dalles, Ore. died Sept. 25, 2011, at Mid Columbia Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 6, 1930 in Vermillion, S. Dakota to George and Geneva Meyer.
She lived in Goldendale, Wash., as well as The Dalles.
She spent many years with Habitat for Humanity in The Dalles, helping people achieve their dream of owning a home. She held a variety of jobs over the years including investigating employment fraud for the State of Washington.
She loved to travel the world, gardening and helping others.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Meyer and her son Gary Arbuckle, Sr.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Lefforge, grandchildren Megan Kittell and Gary Arbuckle, Jr., and best friend Jim Gordon.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at Mid Columbia Senior Center in The Dalles.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a charitable donation be made to Habitat for Humanity.
