Houston Harrell Ainsworth,90, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007 at his residence in Harlingen.

Houston Harrell was born on September 7, 1916 to Luther Lawrence and Della James Ainsworth in Houston, Texas.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and later went in to the United States Air Force. He served 33 1/2-years in the military and retired as a Master SGT.

He married Sue 25 December 1941.


He moved to Harlingen in 1948 and went to work with the Ulhorn Construction Co. and later went to work with Valley Ready Mix and retired in 1975.

He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Harlingen.


He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sue F. Ainsworth; two children, Larry (Judy) Ainsworth and Aleta Sue Ainsworth; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.


Visitation hours will be held from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the family present from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the funeral home.


Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2007 with the Rev. Gene Horton and Vance Greek officiating.

Burial will follow at Harlingen-Combes Cemetery.


Pallbearers will be Houston Ainsworth, II, Bill Jack Warren, Randy Bauer, Scot Green, Renee Clark, John T. Ragsdale and Richard Reed.


Houston Harrell will be best remembered as a loving father and husband. God bless you with all our love.
