Funeral Services for Gussie Selfridge "Aunt Gussie" Widener, 87, of Windsor, SC will be held two pm Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Windsor First Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from six to eight pm Wednesday, January 21st at Folk Funeral Home, Williston. "Aunt Gussie" died Monday at her home. The family has asked that monetary donations be made to help the family with expenses.

Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Maggie Stone Selfridge. She worked in food service for Windsor School Systems for many years and for Rex Manufacturing in Williston. She was a very active member of Windsor First Baptist Church, where formerly she served as the church secretary, was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and the WMU. She was an Auxiliary member of the Windsor Fire Department, a member of the Windsor City Council and was Grand Marshall for Windsor in 1995.

Survivors include daughter, Pauline W. Allen; son-in-law, Leonard Allen both of Windsor; brother, Woodrow "Tudlum" Selfridge of Clearwater; grandchildren, Donna A. Brown, John (Kim) Allen; great-grandchildren, Maggie Allen and Alyssa Allen; great-great-grandchild, Tyler John Woody; her loving cat, Sassyboy; special niece, Brenda Morris; special friends, Frances Nunn, Peggy Widener and Frank Mizell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Widener; sister, Katie Lowe; brother, Lewis Selfridge; grandchildren, Steven Keith Allen and Leigh Ann Allen Woodward.
